As Scientific Director for Health and Wellness Education Partners, Purvi provides scientific and analytical support for the internal team and faculty. She researches various therapeutic areas and prepares grant proposals for continuing medical education programs that address unmet educational needs and ultimately improve health outcomes.
Purvi has worked in clinical and public health research for 14 years in private, nonprofit, and academic settings. She began her career as a bench scientist at Abbott Laboratories, where she was responsible for feasibility, research, and preclinical phase studies in diagnostics development. She also held positions with Bayer Diagnostics—where she designed and performed preclinical studies for commercialization of an HBcoreAb immunoassay—and Pfizer Inc—where she collaborated with vendors and key thought leaders in protocol design and data analysis for outcomes research studies.
Purvi’s passion for improving health outcomes in underserved populations led her to the Center for Health Care Strategies, where she provided programmatic and analytical support to the Best Clinical and Administrative Practices initiative. She also provided technical assistance to grantees in the measurement and evaluation of quality-improvement initiatives that impact people served by Medicaid managed care.
Purvi holds a Master of Public Health degree from Columbia University, where she was awarded the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Research Scholarship in 2001.
