A New Look at Why I Smoke and How to Quit
Experts in smoking cessation led the development of this unique program aimed at motivating individuals to quit smoking. The program was designed to increase physician and patient understanding that:
  • Nicotine dependence is a chronic, relapsing, addictive disease
  • Successful smoking cessation may be a journey that entails a struggle of relapses and remissions
  • People usually cannot quit without support
More than 11,000 individuals participated in local educational programs during the pilot phase.

Program materials included physician/payer/employer/patient slide presentations and patient motivational tools.
